Green Kimono No.1

This was a commission piece I did for a friend in England a few years ago. I got my little brother to model it for me, though he wasn't quite as tall as the fellow it was made for, so the hakama ended up a little baggy at the ground. But otherwise it fit him well.

The white portions of the outfit began as a very cheesy kimono-style bathrobe which my friend wanted to have turned into a good costume. So I took it apart. ^_^ The main body was shortened and turned into the haori. I just used the collar banding as it was for the new kimono. Some of what had been cut off the bottom was turned into the sleeve trim, and the original sleeves and what was left from the main body were turned into an obi. Kimono is green cotton, and hakama is a poly/cotton knit. Finished with gold and green bias tape for trim, and a green obijime with gold tassels. Took about 3 weeks to make.
